HKWCA’s Submission to the Public Consultation on Updating the Hong Kong Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (BSAP)

Hong Kong Government is renewing the Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (BSAP). Biodiversity is not just about the plants, animals and micro-organisms that share planet Earth with us. The ecosystems they formed provide the air we breathe, the water we drink, the food we eat and are essential for a stable climate. Faced with a global biodiversity decline and a looming climate crisis, Hong Kong should take more ambitious actions to conserve the exceptional biodiversity in Hong Kong and to contribute towards the national and international goals. Hong Kong Wetlands Conservation Association have made detailed recommendations on how to effectively conserve our wetlands and aquatic wildlife during the public consultation.
