Fishpond Ecology and Culture Guided Tour (Group Application)

Deep Bay area in Northwest New Territories has been gradually developing into commercially operated fishponds since the 1920s. Fishponds are not only places for fish cultivation, but also important artificial wetland habitats. They provide habitats and breeding grounds for birds, and possess rich biodiversity. Fishponds exemplify the harmonious coexistence of human and nature; and embody the traditional fish farming techniques, as well as the history and culture of Hong Kong's fisheries.
Organisations and groups are welcome to enrol for the "Fishpond Fun Tour — Fishpond Guided Tour", to gain firsthand insights into local fishing history and fishpond operations. This tour aims to enhance public awareness of wetland conservation by showcasing the beauty and biodiversity of fishponds.
