Event Details

  1. Learn more about Hong Kong traditional fishery: Sharing from the fishpond operators on the history and cultured of local fishery.

  2. Understand the fishpond operations: Learn about fishpond tools on site and watch the net-casting demonstration to gain a comprehensive understanding on the fish harvesting process.

  3. Explore fishpond wetland ecology: Understand relationships and interactions between fishponds and birds through birdwatching activity.

Location: Tai Sang Wai and Lut Chau
Suitable for: Public who aged 6 or above (Participants aged under 18 must be accompanied by an adult)
Capacity: 20 pax (First come, first served basis)
Language: Cantonese
Fee*: $180 per person (Same price for adults and children)


*Fee included:

  1. The Organiser will arrange transportation for participants between Yuen Long MTR station and the activity locations.

  2. Free borrowing of binoculars.

  3. Complimentary field guides.

  4. The walking distance is around 2 km, and the route is mostly flat dirt paths.

  5. Insurance is included.

Group Application

​All organisations are welcomed to send the applications, the event details are as below:

Date: 1 May 2026 - 28 February 2027

Time-slot:09:00 - 12:30 or 14:00 - 17:30 (Around 3.5 hours, including transportation)

Activity locations: Tai Sang Wai and Lut Chau

Assembly point: Yuen Long MTR station or  negotiated location

Language: Cantonese

Remarks: Same price for adults and children. Fee included chartered coach service, free borrowing of binoculars, complimentary field guides and insurance.
